Dvořák in America — Residential Course
Terry Barfoot (lecturer), Brodowski String Quartet
• An exploration of Dvořák’s years in America (1892-5), when he wrote
some of his best-known music: his final Symphony, “From the New
World”, plus chamber and vocal music, and the cello concerto. There will
be visual and musical illustrations, using excellent hi-fi equipment and
DVD, and the course will conclude with a performance of the “American
Quartet” by the Brodowski String Quartet.
