Czech & Slovak Music Anniversaries 2004

     In case you didn’t know, 2004 is —

• the 150th Anniversary of Janáček’s birth and the 100th Anniversary of Dvořák’s death
• A selection of other anniversaries reads as follows:
• the 180th Anniversary of Smetana’s birth, and the 120th of his death
• the 130th Anniversary of the composer Josef Suk’s birth
• the 145th Anniversary of the birth of Josef Bohuslav Foerster
• the 90th Anniversary of the birth of the great conductor Rafael Kubelík
• the 45th Anniversary of the death of Martinů
• the 130th Anniversary of the composer, pianist and violist Oskar Nedbal’s birth
• the 55th Anniversary of the death of the composer Vítězslav Novák.
